Lisa is a contemporary painter living and working in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. She graduated from Guelph University with an Honours BA in Studio Art and attended Queen’s University in Kingston, Ontario for the Artist In the Community Education Program. She furthered her education in art through part time studies at OCAD University in Toronto, and the School of Visual Arts (SVA) in New York City. Lisa’a paintings and drawings hang in private collections in the US, Canada and the UK.
Her paintings, like all art, work to express things when words fall short. Ambiguous imagery, gestural marks and shapes coexist to create a space that invites a pause. Watch how what emerges and what fades are bound together, each depending on the other to exist at all. Growth leans into decay, movement rests within stillness, just as an exhale must follow a deep breath.
